R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Residents of Del Rio lost an esteemed local
  businessman and beloved neighbor on January 23, 2008, with the
  passing of Conrado Galindo, Jr., at the age of 82; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Del Rio to Conrado Galindo, Sr., and Maria
  Sanchez Galindo on July 3, 1925, Conrado Galindo, Jr., was known for
  his ability to turn strangers into friends with his quick smile,
  firm handshake, and friendly personality; these qualities were put
  to good use in his work with American General Insurance, allowing
  him to meet scores of new people in the course of his business
  travels; Mr. Galindo also undertook several entrepreneurial
  endeavors, owning and operating a print shop, publishing the
  Spanish-language newspaper La Semana, and running a family-owned
  convenience store; and
         WHEREAS, This caring family man was devoted to his wife,
  Herminia, with whom he shared 62 years of rewarding matrimony; the
  couple were blessed with three sons, Conrado, Richard, and Manuel,
  who were a source of unending pride for Mr. Galindo throughout his
  life; he took great joy in gathering with his family to share
  reminiscences and Mrs. Galindo's wonderful cooking; and
         WHEREAS, With his warm hospitality and his deep interest in
  the well-being of others, Conrado Galindo built a life that was rich
  in family and friends, and those who were privileged to know him
  will forever cherish their memories of time spent in his company;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Conrado Galindo, Jr.,
  and that sincere sympathy be extended to the members of his family:
  to his children, Conrado Galindo III and his wife, Joanne; Richard
  Galindo and his wife, Marta; and Manuel Galindo and his wife,
  Margaret; to his 10 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren; to
  his brother, Melchor Galindo, and his wife, Gloria; to his
  brother-in-law, Arturo Ramirez, Sr.; and to his other relatives and
  friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Conrado
  Galindo, Jr.
