R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the untimely loss of
  Timothy Wayne Breckenridge of Del Rio, who died on December 4, 2008,
  at the age of 43; and
         WHEREAS, Tim Breckenridge was born in Edwards, California, to
  Darrell and Betty Breckenridge on July 10, 1965; he attended
  schools in Aurora, Colorado, and Del Rio and went on to earn his
  associate's degree from Southwest Texas Junior College; and
         WHEREAS, In 1994, Mr. Breckenridge joined the Del Rio Fire
  and Rescue Department, and within four years, he was promoted to the
  rank of lieutenant; a dedicated and courageous firefighter, he
  refused a promotion to captain, preferring to stay with his engine
  company rather than work a desk job; and
         WHEREAS, Lieutenant Breckenridge received the department's
  Medal of Honor after he and a fellow firefighter carried an elderly
  woman to safety during the flood of 1998; and
         WHEREAS, A man of strong faith, Mr. Breckenridge was an
  ordained elder of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints;
  and
         WHEREAS, Devoted to his family and his vocation, Tim
  Breckenridge delighted in the outdoors and lived an active life,
  and although he is no longer with us, his warmth and sense of humor
  will forever be remembered by all who knew and loved him; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Timothy Wayne
  Breckenridge and extend sincere condolences to the members of his
  family:  to his son, Tim Breckenridge, Jr., and his wife, Hatali; to
  his daughter, April Jasinski, and her husband, Joe; to his parents,
  Darrell and Betty Breckenridge; to his brothers, Todd and Bradley
  Breckenridge; to his sister, Tobi Duckworth; to his stepdaughters,
  Heather Bennett and Cami Gailey; to his grandmother, Betty
  Urquhart; and to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tim
  Breckenridge.
