R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The Reverend Lisa Marshall of First United Methodist |
|
Church in Denton is serving as Pastor of the Day for the Texas House |
|
of Representatives on March 11, 2009; and |
|
WHEREAS, Reverend Marshall began her pastoral work as a youth |
|
director at Fellowship United Methodist Church in Trophy Club; in |
|
2002, she moved to Vista Ridge United Methodist Church in |
|
Lewisville, initially holding the title of minister of discipleship |
|
and later serving as associate pastor; since 2006, she has been |
|
associate pastor at First United Methodist Church in Denton; and |
|
WHEREAS, This respected religious leader was commissioned on |
|
the elder track in June 2006, and she recently earned her master of |
|
divinity degree from the Perkins School of Theology at Southern |
|
Methodist University; in addition to her ministerial duties, she is |
|
the proud mother of two sons, David and Drew; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Reverend Marshall has inspired |
|
congregants with messages of faith and goodwill, and her presence |
|
in this chamber is indeed an honor; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby express its sincere appreciation to the Reverend |
|
Lisa Marshall for her service as Pastor of the Day and extend to her |
|
warmest best wishes for continued success and fulfillment in her |
|
ministry; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Reverend Marshall as an expression of high regard by |
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
