R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of Lake Highlands Military Moms are
  providing vital support for area residents serving in the United
  States armed forces and their families; and
         WHEREAS, This worthwhile organization was established in
  2006 by Lake Highlands High School teacher Rhonda Russell, proud
  mother of Staff Sergeant Lee Russell, in an effort to pay tribute to
  Lake Highlands graduates serving this country and to offer
  encouragement for their relatives; today, 90 families benefit from
  the services of Lake Highlands Military Moms; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to gathering once a month for a dinner,
  members send care packages to all Lake Highlands military serving
  overseas and honor these brave individuals in the local Fourth of
  July Parade; the group has also produced and distributed 500 Lake
  Highlands Heroes posters to area classrooms, businesses,
  libraries, and churches; and
         WHEREAS, Under the direction of Ms. Russell, Lake Highlands
  Military Moms collaborated with the town's Exchange Club and
  Congressman Jeb Hensarling to honor returning troops at a special
  breakfast, where the troops are presented with a gift certificate
  and letter of appreciation; and
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating to our men and women in uniform the
  gratitude felt by all Americans for their service and sacrifice is a
  most worthwhile endeavor that truly merits special recognition;
  now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Lake Highlands Military Moms for
  supporting North Texas servicemen and women and extend to the
  group's members sincere best wishes for continued success with
  their important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Lake Highlands Military Moms as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
