R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Texas Dental Association Legislative Day is taking |
|
|
place at the State Capitol on February 25, 2009, and this occasion |
|
|
provides a fitting opportunity to honor Dr. Debrah Worsham; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Worsham operates a dental practice in the city |
|
|
of Center; highly respected by her peers, she was a 2008 nominee for |
|
|
the East Texas Dentist of the Year honor; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to maintaining high-quality dental care, |
|
|
she has taken a prominent role in issues affecting her profession; |
|
|
her efforts have included service as the chair of the Texas Dental |
|
|
Association Political Action Committee, and she is presently a |
|
|
member of the board for the American Dental Political Action |
|
|
Committee; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In addition to her other activities, Dr. Worsham has |
|
|
taken time to work with Texas Mission of Mercy, which is a nonprofit |
|
|
community organization that provides free medical and dental |
|
|
services and prescriptions to uninsured working poor, homeless, and |
|
|
economically disadvantaged individuals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Dr. Debrah Worsham has lent her voice and her skills |
|
|
to making a meaningful difference in her state, and it is a pleasure |
|
|
to welcome her to Austin on the occasion of Texas Dental Association |
|
|
Legislative Day; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Dr. Debrah Worsham for her professional |
|
|
achievements and for her contributions to the state and extend to |
|
|
her sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Dr. Worsham as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
