R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, A 50th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love
  and shared experiences, and Joe and Ann Pendergrass of Greenville
  celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on December 19,
  2008; and
         WHEREAS, Joe Pendergrass and the former Ann Giles were
  married in Cockrell Hill in 1958; they have since been blessed with
  a treasured family that includes three sons and daughters-in-law,
  Steve and Barbie, Gary and Krista, and Benny and Lynn, as well as
  seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Early in their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Pendergrass
  lived in Dallas; after 10 years there, they moved to Longview, where
  they would spend nearly four decades; Mrs. Pendergrass is retired
  from her position as school secretary for Pine Tree Middle School in
  Longview, and Mr. Pendergrass is a semi-retired draftsman;
  residents of Greenville since 2007, the couple are valued
  congregants of the Johnson Street Church of Christ; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Pendergrass have enjoyed five decades
  of abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an
  exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting
  commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Joe and Ann Pendergrass on their
  50th wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes for
  continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Pendergrass as an expression of high
  regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
