R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, David McKinnon White of Boy Scouts of America Crew |
|
|
No. 670 in San Antonio has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and |
|
|
this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout insignia is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, Mr. White earned the requisite 21 merit badges, including |
|
|
those requiring expertise in such diverse areas as leatherwork, |
|
|
archery, and aviation, and successfully completed an Eagle Scout |
|
|
project of benefit to his community, which consisted in part of the |
|
|
placement of markers to identify plants in Friedrich Wilderness |
|
|
Park; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Leslie White, this fine young Texan has |
|
|
demonstrated outstanding leadership ability throughout his |
|
|
scouting career, winning the respect and admiration of his fellow |
|
|
scouts as he worked toward the highest distinction that scouting |
|
|
offers; he was venturing crew president, and, as a Cub Scout, he |
|
|
earned the Arrow of Light Award; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout White's dedication to excellence and his |
|
|
perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to |
|
|
stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride |
|
|
on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate David McKinnon White on achieving |
|
|
the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. White as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
