R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Austin Area Life Affirming Coalition (AALAC) has
  been formed to coordinate the life efforts for the Central Texas
  area and beyond, and representatives of the organization are
  visiting the State Capitol on March 10, 2009; and
         WHEREAS, AALAC realized the need for a Christian-based
  coordination of efforts regarding health, education, resources,
  and housing, and it has received vital support from churches of the
  Central Texas area; through combined efforts, countless people are
  being offered the help they desperately need; and
         WHEREAS, Building on a strong foundation of religious faith,
  AALAC is preparing generations of students for professional
  success, lifelong learning, and meaningful service to others; the
  coalition has stayed true to its mission while adapting to an
  ever-changing world; and
         WHEREAS, AALAC also provides services for students from other
  countries and gives resources to other countries, and it urges its
  clients to take an active role in community service; outreach
  efforts have included serving universities, high schools, middle
  schools, churches, hospitals, and battered women's shelters; and
         WHEREAS, In association with more than 2,300 other
  like-minded organizations across the country, AALAC is providing
  important resources for its community; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby recognize members of the Austin Area Life
  Affirming Coalition who are visiting the State Capitol on this day
  and extend to them sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it
  further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
