R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada, Sr., of the |
|
Dallas Police Department was killed in the line of duty on February |
|
22, 2008, at the age of 49, and his untimely death was a tragic loss |
|
to his family, to his fellow peace officers, and to the citizens of |
|
Dallas; and |
|
WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Lozada exemplified in his personal |
|
and professional conduct the singular virtues of courage, |
|
integrity, and unwavering dedication; and |
|
WHEREAS, Throughout his 20-year tenure on the force, he |
|
compiled a record of meritorious service, earning 138 |
|
commendations, a Life Saving Award, and a Certificate of Merit; he |
|
also worked to keep young people out of harm's way by encouraging |
|
them to stay off the streets and out of gangs; and |
|
WHEREAS, Devotion to family and community formed the |
|
foundation on which this highly respected public servant built his |
|
life, and he will long be remembered for his commitment to helping |
|
others; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Senior Corporal |
|
Victor Lozada and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his |
|
family: to his wife, Theresa Lozada; to his children, Victor |
|
Antonio Lozada, Jr., Lisa Anne Lozada, Stephanie Andrea Lozada, and |
|
David Alexander Lozada; to his mother, Josefina Lozada; to his |
|
sisters and brother; and to his other relatives and many friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Senior |
|
Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada, Sr. |
