R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada, Sr., of the
  Dallas Police Department was killed in the line of duty on February
  22, 2008, at the age of 49, and his untimely death was a tragic loss
  to his family, to his fellow peace officers, and to the citizens of
  Dallas; and
         WHEREAS, Senior Corporal Lozada exemplified in his personal
  and professional conduct the singular virtues of courage,
  integrity, and unwavering dedication; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout his 20-year tenure on the force, he
  compiled a record of meritorious service, earning 138
  commendations, a Life Saving Award, and a Certificate of Merit; he
  also worked to keep young people out of harm's way by encouraging
  them to stay off the streets and out of gangs; and
         WHEREAS, Devotion to family and community formed the
  foundation on which this highly respected public servant built his
  life, and he will long be remembered for his commitment to helping
  others; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Senior Corporal
  Victor Lozada and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his
  family: to his wife, Theresa Lozada; to his children, Victor
  Antonio Lozada, Jr., Lisa Anne Lozada, Stephanie Andrea Lozada, and
  David Alexander Lozada; to his mother, Josefina Lozada; to his
  sisters and brother; and to his other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Senior
  Corporal Victor Antonio Lozada, Sr.
