R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The passing of Ann K. Schwank of Houston on August |
|
29, 2008, at the age of 80, has deeply saddened all those who were |
|
fortunate enough to know her; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native Texan, the former Ann Knippers was born to |
|
Lewis and Hattie Knippers on July 18, 1928, in Nacogdoches and grew |
|
up in Port Arthur; and |
|
WHEREAS, She married Theodore Edward Schwank on August 19, |
|
1953, and the couple shared a fulfilling union until Mr. Schwank's |
|
passing; the loving mother of two children, Ted and the late Gail |
|
Schwank, she also delighted in her granddaughter, Bridgette; and |
|
WHEREAS, In addition to serving as a PBX operator for the |
|
Houston Post, Mrs. Schwank owned and operated Ann K's of Houston |
|
Hair Salon in the Heights neighborhood for many years; she was a |
|
member of Second Baptist Church and took a lifelong pleasure in the |
|
leisure pursuits of crochet and arts and crafts; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ann Schwank lived a life that was enriched by |
|
cherished family and friends, rewarding work and hobbies, and an |
|
abiding faith, and she will forever hold a treasured place in the |
|
hearts of her loved ones; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ann K. Schwank and |
|
extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: to her son, |
|
Ted Schwank, and his wife, Tiffani; to her granddaughter, |
|
Bridgette; to her nieces, Darla Gaudet and April Giles Sowell; to |
|
her nephews, Jimmy and Mark Giles; and to her other relatives and |
|
friends; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Ann K. |
|
Schwank. |
