R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Members and alumni of Leadership Temple contribute |
|
immeasurably to South Central Texas as civic leaders and |
|
volunteers; and |
|
WHEREAS, Established by the Temple Chamber of Commerce, this |
|
exceptional program provides opportunities for participants to |
|
increase their knowledge of local issues and infrastructure and to |
|
visit with the leaders who are making decisions that affect their |
|
community; and |
|
WHEREAS, Classes inspire the spirit of activism and provide a |
|
diverse membership with personal leadership training, networking |
|
opportunities, and instruction from knowledgeable figures |
|
representing both the public and private sectors; topics covered |
|
include Temple's history, government, economy, social issues, |
|
needs, opportunities, and the existing processes for dealing with |
|
them; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through its efforts to build a more informed and |
|
involved citizenry, Leadership Temple is helping to create a |
|
brighter and more promising future for the Lone Star State; now, |
|
therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend Leadership Temple for its promotion of |
|
civic engagement and volunteerism and extend to its participants |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
House of Representatives. |
