R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Television producer Kathy Sapp is being recognized |
|
|
with the 2009 WIN Award at the Women Improving the Nation Award |
|
|
Luncheon in Houston on March 14, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Sponsored by the Honey Brown Hope Foundation, the |
|
|
WIN Award Luncheon commemorates Women's History Month by |
|
|
celebrating the achievements and contributions of outstanding |
|
|
women; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Sapp has been a leader in television news and |
|
|
entertainment for 17 years; from 1992 to 1998, she worked for CBS |
|
|
News as a producer; selected by anchor Dan Rather to work with him |
|
|
on the CBS Evening News, she also worked with correspondents Ed |
|
|
Bradley on Street Stories and Bryant Gumbel on Public Eye with |
|
|
Bryant Gumbel; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, From 1999 to 2001, this gifted broadcast |
|
|
professional produced the Debra Duncan Show at ABC 13 in Houston, |
|
|
and for the past seven years, she has been an executive producer at |
|
|
20th Century Fox Television, where she produces television pilots |
|
|
and syndicated shows; she is responsible for the development and |
|
|
overall strategy of the nationally syndicated Houston-based court |
|
|
show Judge Alex, now in its fifth successful year; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Throughout her career, Kathy Sapp has exemplified |
|
|
dynamism, vision, and hard work, and she is indeed deserving of this |
|
|
prestigious award; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Kathy Sapp on receiving the 2009 |
|
|
WIN Award from the Honey Brown Hope Foundation and extend to her |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Ms. Sapp as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
