R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends mourn the loss of Doyle E.
  Krueger of New Braunfels, who died on February 15, 2008, at the age
  of 75; and
         WHEREAS, Doyle Elmer Krueger was born in Marion on April 7,
  1932; he moved to New Braunfels with his family in 1941, when his
  father became part owner of Richards and Krueger Lumber Company;
  and
         WHEREAS, After graduating from New Braunfels High School in
  1949, Mr. Krueger went on to earn his bachelor's degree in business
  administration at Texas A&M University, where he was a member of the
  Corps of Cadets and the Fighting Texas Aggie Band; he graduated in
  1953, and that same year, he married Roxolin Bose Krueger and
  answered his nation's call to duty; joining the U.S. Air Force as a
  second lieutenant, he was honorably discharged in 1956 as a
  captain; and
         WHEREAS, Following his military service, Mr. Krueger
  returned to his family's lumberyard in New Braunfels, where he
  would work for the next 14 years; in 1970, he founded Towne and
  Country Realtors with Tom Zipp, and he worked with that company
  until 2000; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Krueger was actively engaged in his profession
  during his years in real estate, serving as president of the Texas
  Association of Realtors and the New Braunfels Board of Realtors; he
  was chair of the Legal Action Committee of the National Association
  of Realtors, and from 1990 to 1997, he was the association's
  director; for his professional leadership, he was named Realtor of
  the Year in 1994 by the Texas Association of Realtors and Realtor of
  the Century by the New Braunfels Board of Realtors; and
         WHEREAS, Despite his many professional responsibilities, Mr.
  Krueger was also deeply committed to his community; he had a long
  association with the McKenna Memorial Hospital and System, as a
  board member for 33 years and as board chair for 13 years; he was
  also a blue coat member of the New Braunfels Chamber of Commerce for
  more than four decades and a longtime member of the Wurstfest
  Association, the Braunfels Foundation Trust, and the Rotary Club;
  he had attended the First Protestant Church since 1942, serving on
  its board and many committees; and
         WHEREAS, For his many contributions to his community, Mr.
  Krueger received a number of prestigious awards from the local
  chamber of commerce, and he was designated a distinguished alumnus
  by the New Braunfels ISD Education Foundation; in 2002, this
  esteemed Texan was named a Living Legend of New Braunfels; and
         WHEREAS, A generous man whose word was his bond, Doyle
  Krueger was a stalwart and dynamic presence in New Braunfels for
  more than 60 years, and his good humor, integrity, and wise counsel
  will forever be remembered by those whose lives he touched; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Doyle E. Krueger and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Roxolin Bose Krueger; to his son, Steven Krueger; to his
  daughter, Katherine K. Stripling; to his six grandchildren; and to
  his other relatives and many friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Doyle
  Krueger.
