R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Members of the Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church
  in Fort Worth gathered on February 17, 2009, to celebrate the 50th
  birthday of the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr.; and
         WHEREAS, A native of Beaumont, Julius Jackson was born in
  1959 to Dr. Julius L. Jackson, Sr., and JoAnn Bostic Jackson; at the
  age of 10, he relocated with his family to Fort Worth, where he
  graduated from O. D. Wyatt High School in 1976; he attended
  Morehouse College in Atlanta before serving in the U.S. Army, and he
  went on to resume his studies at Butler University in Indianapolis,
  earning a bachelor's degree in theological studies in 1988; and
         WHEREAS, Having served as a pastor in Kentucky and Indiana,
  Reverend Jackson succeeded his father as the leader of the
  Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church in October 1999; admired among
  his congregants, he is known for his effective and inspiring
  sermons, and he is currently pursuing a dual master's and doctoral
  degree in theological studies from Andersonville Theological
  Seminary; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed clergyman has further distinguished
  himself through his involvement in various ministerial
  organizations; he has served as president of the Baptist Ministers
  Union, moderator of the Harmony Baptist District Association, and
  president of the Ministers Conference for the Progressive Baptist
  State Convention of Texas; in all of his endeavors, he enjoys the
  love and support of his wife, Dia, and his three children, Jessica,
  Julius, and Deion; and
         WHEREAS, Reverend Jackson works diligently in behalf of his
  community of faith, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on
  his accomplishments as he commemorates this special milestone in
  his life; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Reverend Julius L. Jackson, Jr., on
  the occasion of his 50th birthday and extend to him sincere best
  wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Reverend Jackson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
