R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 90th birthday of an esteemed Texan is truly
  cause for celebration, and Amanda Jane Johnson Dutton of Houston is
  observing this noteworthy milestone in her life on March 31, 2009;
  and
         WHEREAS, The daughter of Emanuel and Maggie Johnson, the
  former Amanda Johnson was born in 1919 in Crowville, Louisiana, and
  she grew up with six brothers and three sisters; she went on to
  attend Phillis Wheatley High School in Houston and Southern
  University in Baton Rouge, where she studied home economics; she
  was later joined in matrimony to Marvin T. Dutton, Sr., and the
  couple welcomed three sons, Calvin, Joel, and Marvin; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Dutton was employed by The University of Texas
  M. D. Anderson Cancer Center for two decades, and she also worked
  for eight years as a laboratory technician; today, she is a faithful
  congregant of Forest Lawn Missionary Baptist Church, and she
  delights in the company of her treasured family, which has grown to
  include two daughters-in-law, six grandchildren, and two
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, With her kind and generous nature, Ms. Dutton is an
  inspiration to many, and it is indeed a pleasure to join with her
  relatives and friends in recognizing her 90 years of life well
  lived; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Amanda Jane Johnson Dutton on the joyous
  occasion of her 90th birthday and extend to her sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Dutton as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
