R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The National Association of Town Watch (NATW) |
|
sponsors a nationwide crime, drug, and violence prevention program |
|
entitled National Night Out Against Crime; and |
|
WHEREAS, The annual National Night Out event provides an |
|
opportunity for Texans to join forces with thousands of other |
|
communities across the country in promoting cooperative, |
|
police-community crime prevention efforts; and |
|
WHEREAS, Residents of the Lone Star State play a vital role in |
|
assisting their local law enforcement agencies in meeting the goals |
|
of this important initiative by demonstrating responsible |
|
citizenship, a respect for law, and a commitment to crime-free |
|
neighborhoods; and |
|
WHEREAS, The importance of reducing crime, drug use, and |
|
violence cannot be overstated, and by taking part in National Night |
|
Out observances, Texans affirm their commitment to making their |
|
communities stronger and safer; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize National Night Out Against Crime as an |
|
essential crime prevention program in the State of Texas and |
|
commend all those involved in this vital endeavor. |
