R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Irving has developed an incentive-based |
|
fitness initiative, the Irving Wellness Incentive Now (IWIN) |
|
program, to reward workers for achieving and maintaining good |
|
health; and |
|
WHEREAS, Based on personal responsibility, the IWIN program |
|
builds upon the knowledge that good health can lead to a richer, |
|
fuller life; IWIN participants receive increased funding |
|
opportunities for their health savings accounts and other medical |
|
costs and are offered a number of worthwhile benefits, including |
|
wellness seminars and workshops, group fitness events, lunch |
|
programs, and the use of fitness facilities; and |
|
WHEREAS, To enhance the program's prospects for success, the |
|
City of Irving has dedicated staff to ensure the IWIN program |
|
realizes its goals and enhances the lives of all City of Irving |
|
employees; and |
|
WHEREAS, A proactive and beneficial example of municipal |
|
innovation, the IWIN program will improve the health of |
|
participants, decrease medical costs, and help employees to meet |
|
their full productive potential; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby commend the City of Irving for its Irving |
|
Wellness Incentive Now program and extend sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success to all those associated with the initiative. |
