R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
by a great and enduring love, Doyal and Doris Humphries of |
|
Bloomfield, New Mexico, marked the milestone of their 50th wedding |
|
anniversary on June 1, 2007; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Humphries and the former Doris Kay Dilks were |
|
united in matrimony in 1957 at a ceremony held at First Baptist |
|
Church in Corum, Oklahoma; they have nurtured a close and |
|
fulfilling marriage that has been made even richer with the |
|
addition of three children, Pam Siluk, Paula Holden, and Sharon |
|
Ware, and five grandchildren; and |
|
WHEREAS, Former longtime residents of Rankin, Mr. and |
|
Mrs. Humphries moved to Bloomfield in 1979; Mr. Humphries retired |
|
from Halliburton after 35 years of service and went on to work |
|
part-time as the maintenance director for the First Baptist Church |
|
in Bloomfield; Mrs. Humphries, a devoted homemaker, was a |
|
beautician in Rankin; and |
|
WHEREAS, Having witnessed innumerable changes in the world |
|
over the past half-century, this devoted husband and wife have |
|
taken comfort in the reassuring strength of their love, and the |
|
steadfast support they provide to one another has allowed them to |
|
meet life's challenges and opportunities with grace and optimism; |
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Doyal and Doris Humphries on their |
|
golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes |
|
for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Humphries as an expression of high regard |
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
