R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, William Perry Anderson has been inducted into the
  Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and this occasion provides
  a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Kermit on October 12, 1944, William Anderson
  went on to graduate from Kermit High School in 1963 and from McMurry
  University in 1967; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined
  the United States Air Force the following year, and he served
  through 1972; after working as a purchasing agent and a sales
  representative in Colorado, he returned to the Lone Star State in
  1975 and entered the restaurant industry as an operations manager;
  and
         WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Anderson has owned and
  operated several Dairy Queen and Walter's restaurants in Kermit,
  Monahans, Pecos, and Odessa; his businesses have been recognized
  for some of the highest sales volumes among Dairy Queen restaurants
  in Texas and for notable contributions to the Children's Miracle
  Network; Mr. Anderson has served as president of the Permian Basin
  Restaurant Association, and he was named Restaurateur of the Year
  in 1996; active in the Texas Dairy Queen Operators Council, he
  served as chairman of the Products and Services committee and as a
  member of the board from 1994 to 2003; moreover, he has volunteered
  his time as a trustee for the CrossRoads Fellowship in Odessa; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community and his profession,
  William Anderson has garnered the lasting respect and admiration of
  his fellow residents, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on
  his civic contributions; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate William Perry Anderson on his
  induction into the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and
  extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and
  happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Anderson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
