R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, William Perry Anderson has been inducted into the |
|
Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and this occasion provides |
|
a fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Kermit on October 12, 1944, William Anderson |
|
went on to graduate from Kermit High School in 1963 and from McMurry |
|
University in 1967; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined |
|
the United States Air Force the following year, and he served |
|
through 1972; after working as a purchasing agent and a sales |
|
representative in Colorado, he returned to the Lone Star State in |
|
1975 and entered the restaurant industry as an operations manager; |
|
and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Anderson has owned and |
|
operated several Dairy Queen and Walter's restaurants in Kermit, |
|
Monahans, Pecos, and Odessa; his businesses have been recognized |
|
for some of the highest sales volumes among Dairy Queen restaurants |
|
in Texas and for notable contributions to the Children's Miracle |
|
Network; Mr. Anderson has served as president of the Permian Basin |
|
Restaurant Association, and he was named Restaurateur of the Year |
|
in 1996; active in the Texas Dairy Queen Operators Council, he |
|
served as chairman of the Products and Services committee and as a |
|
member of the board from 1994 to 2003; moreover, he has volunteered |
|
his time as a trustee for the CrossRoads Fellowship in Odessa; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community and his profession, |
|
William Anderson has garnered the lasting respect and admiration of |
|
his fellow residents, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on |
|
his civic contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate William Perry Anderson on his |
|
induction into the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and |
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success and |
|
happiness; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Anderson as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
