R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, October 19, 2007, marked the 50th wedding
  anniversary of Dolly and Rayford Calhoun of Midland, providing a
  fitting opportunity to reflect on their memorable journey together
  as husband and wife; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Calhoun and the former Dolly Williamson were
  joined in matrimony in 1957 at a ceremony held at Greenwood Baptist
  Church; through the years, they have been blessed with a treasured
  family that includes three children, Victoria Calhoun, Rainy
  Walker, and Christi Franklin, as well as five grandchildren and two
  great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Respected members of their community, Mrs. Calhoun
  has been employed as a bookkeeper and mortgage loan officer while
  Mr. Calhoun has enjoyed a diverse career that has included work as
  an electrician, machine tool operator, engineering technician, and
  farmer; they are both valued members of First United Methodist
  Church and the High Sky Squares dance club; in addition, Mrs.
  Calhoun is a Scarborough/Linebery House docent and a member of the
  Midland Quilters Guild, and Mr. Calhoun is involved with several
  team roping associations; and
         WHEREAS, This dedicated husband and wife have shared five
  decades of abiding love and affection with one another, and they are
  among an exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a
  lasting commitment; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Dolly and Rayford Calhoun on their
  golden wedding anniversary and extend to them sincere best wishes
  for continued happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Calhoun as an expression of high regard by
  the Texas House of Representatives.
