R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, James P. Wilhite of Tyler has won election as the new
  chair of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association state board of
  directors; and
         WHEREAS, A trade association that represents all segments of
  the green industry in Texas, TNLA serves growers, landscape
  contractors, retail nurseries, and suppliers to green industry
  businesses; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Wilhite graduated from Stephen F. Austin State
  University in 1980 with a bachelor's degree in horticulture and
  biology; a Texas Certified Landscape Professional, he founded
  Wilhite Landscape and Lawn Care in Tyler in 1982; and
         WHEREAS, A longtime leader in his profession, Mr. Wilhite has
  served as president and vice president for finance of the Texas
  Association of Landscape Contractors and as a member of the
  Certified Landscape Professional task force; he played a vital role
  in the merger of TALC and the Texas Association of Nurserymen into
  TNLA, and he has served as the organization's state landscape
  director, landscape committee chair, and certification committee
  chair; and
         WHEREAS, James Wilhite's 30 years of experience as a
  landscape and nursery professional and his exemplary record of
  service to TNLA will serve him well in his new role as chair; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate James Wilhite on his election as
  chair of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association state board of
  directors and extend to him best wishes for a successful tenure;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Wilhite as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
