R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The live auction industry plays a vital role in the |
|
economy of the Lone Star State, and it is indeed a pleasure to |
|
welcome members of the Texas Auctioneers Association to the State |
|
Capitol; and |
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1956, the TAA promotes the auction method |
|
of marketing through education, public outreach, and the sharing of |
|
information; it strives to establish and uphold the highest |
|
professional standards for its 400 hardworking and talented |
|
members; and |
|
WHEREAS, Auctioneering has a long history in this country and |
|
contributes $250 billion to the national economy every year, |
|
including more than $500 million to this state's economy; Texas |
|
auctioneers are active in all areas of commerce, including real |
|
estate, automobile, and livestock sales, among others; and |
|
WHEREAS, With their distinctive and entertaining calls, |
|
auctioneers participate in a rich and colorful tradition, and their |
|
industry helps to further the prosperity of Texas; now, therefore, |
|
going once, going twice, going three times, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby recognize April 3, 2009, as Texas Auctioneers |
|
Day at the State Capitol and extend to the visiting representatives |
|
of the Texas Auctioneers Association sincere best wishes for |
|
continued success. |
