R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards strives to
  protect the youth of our state from abuse and neglect; and
         WHEREAS, Composed of court-appointed volunteers, the council
  coordinates state and local child welfare services in an effort to
  promote the safety, permanency, and well-being of children and
  families throughout Texas; and
         WHEREAS, Members work at a grassroots level to develop
  programs that meet the needs of the community; filling gaps in state
  services, county boards raise more than $20 million annually in an
  effort to provide clothing, school supplies, birthday and holiday
  gifts, and other special needs for foster children; and
         WHEREAS, Supporting more than 200 county child welfare
  boards, the group provides training materials and maintains a
  website to facilitate advocacy and information-sharing; and
         WHEREAS, All Texans benefit from the critical services
  provided by the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards, whose work
  ensures that a most vulnerable segment of our society is not
  forgotten; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor the Texas Council of Child Welfare Boards
  for its service to young people in need and extend to all those
  associated with the group sincere best wishes for continued success
  with their important work; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the council as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
