R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Georgetown police officer Jason Chaudoin exhibited |
|
|
swift and decisive judgment in an emergency, and his actions |
|
|
contributed to the successful rescue of a local citizen in extreme |
|
|
peril; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Officer Chaudoin joined fellow officer Erik Grasse |
|
|
in responding to a report of an accident in Sun City; arriving at |
|
|
the scene, they found a car submerged in a pond, with just its trunk |
|
|
visible above the surface of the water; both officers dove in, and |
|
|
Officer Chaudoin repeatedly plunged underwater in search of |
|
|
passengers while Officer Grasse pulled the driver to safety; |
|
|
Officer Chaudoin continued to search the water until the driver was |
|
|
able to explain that she had been alone in the vehicle; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Thanks to the intervention of these two policemen, |
|
|
the driver suffered no serious injuries, and she was treated and |
|
|
released at the scene; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This valiant Texan is a tremendous asset to the |
|
|
citizens of Georgetown, and he is truly deserving of special |
|
|
recognition for his exemplary actions; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Officer Jason Chaudoin of the Georgetown |
|
|
Police Department for his role in saving a woman from drowning and |
|
|
extend to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it |
|
|
further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Officer Chaudoin as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
