R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Crane High School boys' golf team captured the
  overall title at the Crane Invitational tournament on February 27,
  2009; and
         WHEREAS, Demonstrating exceptional skill and concentration,
  the Golden Crane players bested a number of tough competitors,
  including teams from Alpine, Kermit, McCarney, Wink, Coahoma, and
  Van Horn, to take top honors at the meet; moreover, 2009 marks the
  second consecutive year that the Crane golfers have claimed overall
  victory at the invitational tournament; and
         WHEREAS, The Golden Cranes varsity squad posted a combined
  score of 331 for the top four finishers; Derek Means shot a 75 to
  lead the pack, followed by Jordan Cavazos with a score of 77, Jacob
  Lowery with an 88, and Cody Black with a 91; Kaleb Kea, Austin
  Rawls, Teague Esparza, Jonathan Harrell, Cristian Venegas, Kyle
  Day, Dustin Allaire, and Michael King also turned in solid rounds
  for the team; and
         WHEREAS, In claiming their victory, the Crane team members
  were guided by coach Trey Morgan, whose expertise has helped these
  talented student-athletes to perform at the highest level; and
         WHEREAS, Winning an invitational tournament requires focus,
  determination, and a commitment to excellence, and the members of
  the Golden Cranes squad may take justifiable pride in their hard
  work and exceptional performance; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Crane High School boys' golf
  team on winning the overall title at the 2009 Crane Invitational
  tournament and extend to its members sincere best wishes for
  continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
