R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Matthew Thiede of Boy Scouts of America Troop No.
  280 in Highland Village has attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and
  this accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and
         WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant
  honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the
  scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding
  criteria, Mr. Thiede earned the requisite 21 merit badges and, for
  his Eagle Scout project, created a butterfly garden for the science
  department of his school, Coram Deo Academy, in Flower Mound; and
         WHEREAS, This fine young Texan has demonstrated outstanding
  leadership ability throughout his scouting career, earning the
  respect and admiration of his fellow scouts as he worked toward the
  highest rank that scouting offers; and
         WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Thiede's dedication to excellence and
  perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy to
  stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with pride
  on a job well done; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Matthew Thiede on achieving the
  rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Thiede as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
