R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Sue Richardson has been engaged in the Irving
  community for many years, and as she begins a new chapter of her
  life in Arkansas, it is fitting to recognize her for her many
  contributions; and
         WHEREAS, A resident of Irving for 46 years, Mrs. Richardson
  is a retired law department administrator for Union Pacific
  Railroad, a position that she held for two decades, and she worked
  for 18 years as director of the Union Pacific & Transportation
  Employees Federal Credit Union; and
         WHEREAS, In addition to her professional responsibilities,
  Mrs. Richardson has served as chair of the Irving Youth Action
  Council, as a member of the City of Irving Community Development
  Project, as president of the Greater Irving Republican Club, and as
  a member of the Dallas County Council of Republican Women; she has
  also performed the duties of team leader for the Irving branch of
  America's Promise Alliance and served as a director of the Texas
  Federation of Republican Women; and
         WHEREAS, This esteemed Texan enjoys membership at Irving
  First United Methodist Church and has worked with Crossroads
  Interfaith Housing Program, cofounding "That's Entertainment," a
  benefit show for the program; she also serves as a spokesperson for
  the American Cancer Society and the Susan G. Komen Foundation, and
  has testified before two U.S. Senate committees on women's rights;
  she has been honored with the Texas Senate Outstanding Volunteer
  Award and Certificate of Recognition for her work with youth
  leadership; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, Mrs. Richardson enjoys the
  love and support of her husband, Bobby, to whom she has been married
  for 48 years; their life together has been further enriched by their
  son, Don, their daughter-in-law, Nicole, and their grandchildren,
  Renee and Reese; and
         WHEREAS, Texas communities benefit immeasurably from the
  dedication of committed individuals like Sue Richardson who give
  freely of their talents and time in service to their fellow
  citizens; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Sue Richardson for her service to the
  community of Irving and extend to her sincere best wishes for
  continued success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mrs. Richardson as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
