R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce
  has been recognized with a five-star accreditation in 2009 by the
  United States Chamber of Commerce for its outstanding contributions
  to the business climate of Irving; and
         WHEREAS, The U.S. Chamber of Commerce's accreditation
  program recognizes state and local chambers around the country for
  their sound policies, efficient organizations, and positive impact
  on the business climate in their localities; a five-star
  accreditation is the highest offered by the U.S. chamber; and
         WHEREAS, One of only six chambers across the nation to
  receive a five-star rating, and the only one in Texas, the Greater
  Irving-Las Colinas chamber has earned this prestigious ranking for
  its high standards of operational performance, full accountability
  to its members, and significant commitment to Irving; and
         WHEREAS, Under the leadership of board chairman Carter
  Holston and president and CEO Chris Wallace, the Greater Irving-Las
  Colinas Chamber of Commerce works in partnership with the City of
  Irving to serve a thriving region of 210,000 people that is home to
  10,000 businesses, including the headquarters of four Fortune 500
  companies; and
         WHEREAS, The chambers of commerce of Texas play an
  indispensible part in the prosperity and growth of the Lone Star
  State, and the members of the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of
  Commerce may take great pride in this national recognition of their
  exemplary performance; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Greater Irving-Las Colinas
  Chamber of Commerce on receiving a five-star accreditation from the
  U.S. Chamber of Commerce and extend to its members and staff sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the Greater Irving-Las Colinas Chamber of Commerce as
  an expression of high regard by the Texas House of Representatives.
