R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, A 60th wedding anniversary marks a lifetime of love |
|
|
and shared experiences, and Bob and Betty Thrasher of Temple |
|
|
celebrated this joyous milestone in their marriage on February 6, |
|
|
2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Robert M. Thrasher, Sr., and the former Betty Ann |
|
|
Tapman were joined in matrimony on that special day in 1949, at |
|
|
First Baptist Church in Rosebud; through the years, they have been |
|
|
blessed with a treasured family that includes two sons, Robert M. |
|
|
Thrasher, Jr., and his wife Tammi, and Dr. Michael Tapman Thrasher |
|
|
and his wife, Patti Jean, as well as two grandchildren and two |
|
|
great-grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A veteran of World War II, Mr. Thrasher enjoyed a |
|
|
long and rewarding career in automobile sales and owned and |
|
|
operated his own dealership in Gatesville for a time; Mrs. Thrasher |
|
|
worked as an area manager in the cosmetics industry for 35 years and |
|
|
opened specialty boutiques in Gatesville and Temple; she and Mr. |
|
|
Thrasher are now both retired; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This devoted couple have enjoyed six decades of |
|
|
abiding love and affection for one another, and they are among an |
|
|
exceptional group of men and women who can claim such a lasting |
|
|
commitment; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Bob and Betty Thrasher on the |
|
|
occasion of their 60th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Thrasher as an expression of high regard |
|
|
by the Texas House of Representatives. |
