R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Leldon Hensley has been inducted into the Odessa |
|
Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame, and this occasion provides a |
|
fitting opportunity to honor this esteemed Texan; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born in Winters and raised in Walnut Springs, Leldon |
|
Hensley went on to earn a bachelor's degree in civil biology and a |
|
master's degree in education from Sul Ross State University; he |
|
worked as a biology teacher and football coach for six years at |
|
Borger High School and later at Permian High School, and he coached |
|
football at West Texas A&M University for two years; since 1973, Mr. |
|
Hensley has owned a general construction business in Odessa, the |
|
Samson Corporation; and |
|
WHEREAS, Through the years, Mr. Hensley has been active in |
|
such local organizations as the Rotary Club, and he serves on the |
|
board of the Odessa Housing Authority; he is also a former president |
|
and current board member of the Odessa Industrial Development |
|
Corporation, the Midland-Odessa Transportation Alliance, and the |
|
Odessa Development Corporation, and he is a congregant at First |
|
Presbyterian Church of Odessa; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Hensley enjoys the love |
|
and support of his wife, Cherie; the couple's treasured family has |
|
grown to include two children, Shae and Dean, and a |
|
daughter-in-law, Klaire; and |
|
WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community and his profession, |
|
Leldon Hensley has garnered the lasting respect and admiration of |
|
his fellow residents, and he may indeed reflect with great pride on |
|
his civic contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Leldon Hensley on his induction |
|
into the Odessa Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame and extend to him |
|
sincere best wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it |
|
further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Mr. Hensley as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
