R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Bill Brown of Hempstead has served with distinction |
|
|
as the chair of the state board of directors of the Texas Nursery |
|
|
and Landscape Association; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A trade association that represents all segments of |
|
|
the green industry in Texas, the TNLA serves growers, landscape |
|
|
contractors, retail nurseries, and allied businesses; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a Texas native and a summa cum laude |
|
|
graduate of Sam Houston State University; a Texas Certified Nursery |
|
|
Professional, he is currently the general manager of Creekside |
|
|
Nursery in Hempstead; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, In the course of his distinguished 40-year career, |
|
|
Mr. Brown has worked in the landscape horticulture department of |
|
|
the Austin Parks and Recreation Department and for a number of |
|
|
wholesale and retail nurseries and landscape companies; in |
|
|
addition, his exemplary efforts with the Texas Renaissance Festival |
|
|
have earned him the title of Sir William, Keeper of the King's |
|
|
Gardens; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A member of the state board of the TNLA since 1998, |
|
|
Bill Brown has given generously of his time, energy, and expertise |
|
|
to the horticultural profession and to his community, helping to |
|
|
ensure the health and beauty of the Texas landscape, and it is most |
|
|
fitting to take this opportunity to recognize him for his notable |
|
|
achievements; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend Bill Brown for his outstanding service |
|
|
as chair of the board of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association |
|
|
and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
