R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Bill Brown of Hempstead has served with distinction
  as the chair of the state board of directors of the Texas Nursery
  and Landscape Association; and
         WHEREAS, A trade association that represents all segments of
  the green industry in Texas, the TNLA serves growers, landscape
  contractors, retail nurseries, and allied businesses; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Brown is a Texas native and a summa cum laude
  graduate of Sam Houston State University; a Texas Certified Nursery
  Professional, he is currently the general manager of Creekside
  Nursery in Hempstead; and
         WHEREAS, In the course of his distinguished 40-year career,
  Mr. Brown has worked in the landscape horticulture department of
  the Austin Parks and Recreation Department and for a number of
  wholesale and retail nurseries and landscape companies; in
  addition, his exemplary efforts with the Texas Renaissance Festival
  have earned him the title of Sir William, Keeper of the King's
  Gardens; and
         WHEREAS, A member of the state board of the TNLA since 1998,
  Bill Brown has given generously of his time, energy, and expertise
  to the horticultural profession and to his community, helping to
  ensure the health and beauty of the Texas landscape, and it is most
  fitting to take this opportunity to recognize him for his notable
  achievements; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend Bill Brown for his outstanding service
  as chair of the board of the Texas Nursery and Landscape Association
  and extend to him best wishes for the future; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Brown as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
