R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The loved ones of Flavia Cuellar Gutierrez of San |
|
Antonio were greatly saddened by her passing on March 7, 2008, at |
|
the age of 93; and |
|
WHEREAS, Born on January 2, 1915, in Brownsville, Flavia |
|
Cuellar was the daughter of Encarnacion and Luisa Cuellar; she |
|
earned the title of top salesperson with Ralph's of Palm Village and |
|
lived in her hometown until 1967, when she moved to San Antonio; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mrs. Gutierrez shared a rewarding marriage with her |
|
husband, Geronimo Serrata Gutierrez, for 43 years, until his death |
|
in 1978; while embracing the roles of wife and mother, she extended |
|
her care and concern to many other people whose lives she touched as |
|
a friend; she was also a valued parishioner of First United |
|
Pentecostal Church; and |
|
WHEREAS, Flavia Gutierrez was a kind woman whose laughter and |
|
zest for life endeared her to many, and she will forever hold a |
|
treasured place in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to |
|
know her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Flavia Cuellar |
|
Gutierrez and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her family: |
|
to her children, Irma Guerrero, Maria Elena Nena Ball, Jerry |
|
Gutierrez, Uvaldo Luis Gutierrez and his wife, Maria, Janie Miller |
|
and her husband, Warren, and Joe Albert Gutierrez and his wife, |
|
Sheri; to her 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren, and 2 |
|
great-great-grandchildren; and to her other relatives and friends; |
|
and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Flavia |
|
Cuellar Gutierrez. |
