R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The City of Irving has completed an extension of the |
|
|
Campion Trails greenbelt into Sam Houston Trail Park, which offers |
|
|
enhanced recreational opportunities for area residents; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Funded in part by the Dallas County Open Space |
|
|
Program, the new section of Campion Trails extends from T. W. |
|
|
Richardson Grove to Sam Houston Trail Park and provides a |
|
|
pedestrian link to the greenbelt for residents of the Valley Ranch |
|
|
development; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, New features such as vehicle parking areas, security |
|
|
lighting, and drinking fountains were included in the project; |
|
|
moreover, picnic facilities, sports courts, and other amenities |
|
|
will be added in a second stage of construction; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This new extension is an important addition to the |
|
|
Campion Trails route, which will eventually form a 22-mile |
|
|
greenbelt along the Elm Fork and West Fork of the Trinity River; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The creation of this impressive recreational trail |
|
|
system further boosts the quality of life in Irving and provides yet |
|
|
another example of the positive civic projects that make the city a |
|
|
great place to live and work; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commemorate the completion of the Campion Trails |
|
|
greenbelt extension to Sam Houston Trail Park in Irving and extend |
|
|
to all those involved with the project sincere best wishes for |
|
|
continued success. |
