R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Society |
|
|
International celebrated its 75th anniversary on March 9, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1929, the Delta Kappa Gamma Society |
|
|
International is dedicated to promoting the professional and |
|
|
personal growth of women educators and excellence in education; it |
|
|
further supports its community by fostering fellowship among |
|
|
members, providing scholarships, and recognizing outstanding |
|
|
education professionals; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Faithfully championing these ideals is Beta Alpha, |
|
|
the organization's Jacksonville chapter, which was established in |
|
|
1934; throughout its many decades of existence, the group has |
|
|
remained dedicated to improving opportunities for qualified women |
|
|
employed at every level of education; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The women who participate in this exemplary |
|
|
organization have made a positive difference in their profession, |
|
|
and it is indeed fitting that they be honored at this time; now, |
|
|
therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate the Beta Alpha Chapter of Delta |
|
|
Kappa Gamma Society International on its 75th anniversary and |
|
|
extend to its members sincere best wishes for continued success; |
|
|
and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the group as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
