R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, An inspiring couple whose lives have been enhanced |
|
|
by a great and enduring love, Richard and Mary Clark of Temple |
|
|
celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on March 14, 2009; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Richard Clark and the former Mary Reid were united |
|
|
in matrimony at Central Church of Christ on that special day in |
|
|
1959; through the years, they have nurtured a fulfilling marriage |
|
|
that has been made even richer with the addition of their children, |
|
|
Monty Clark and his wife, Cynthia, and Kim Fletcher and her husband, |
|
|
Kyle, as well as their eight beloved grandchildren; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Clark worked at Strausburger Grocery for 27 |
|
|
years before retiring from Temple Bottling Company, where he had |
|
|
bottled Dr Pepper for 11 years; Mrs. Clark has worked for Sam's Club |
|
|
for 17 years; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, While much has changed in the world over the past |
|
|
half-century, this devoted husband and wife have remained constant |
|
|
in their commitment to one another, and the strength of their love |
|
|
has enabled them to meet life's challenges with grace and optimism; |
|
|
now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Richard and Mary Clark on the |
|
|
occasion of their 50th wedding anniversary and extend to them |
|
|
sincere best wishes for continued happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. and Mrs. Clark as an expression of high regard by |
|
|
the Texas House of Representatives. |
