R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends were greatly saddened by the
  passing of Barbara Ann Neal McLaughlin of Uvalde on November 11,
  2008, at the age of 70; and
         WHEREAS, Born on November 9, 1938, in Austin, the former
  Barbara Neal was the daughter of Bart and Mary Neal and enjoyed the
  companionship of a sister, Millo, and a brother, B. D.; and
         WHEREAS, She exchanged vows with Donald E. McLaughlin, Sr.,
  on July 9, 1957, at a ceremony held in Taylor, and together they
  shared a loving marriage that spanned more than half a century; the
  devoted couple experienced the joy of raising 3 children, and with
  the passing years, their family grew to include 10 grandchildren
  and 3 great-grandchildren; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. McLaughlin was a parishioner at St. Philip's
  Episcopal Church, where she took an active role in its chapter of
  Daughters of the King; and
         WHEREAS, A kind and gracious woman, Barbara McLaughlin will
  forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of all those who were
  fortunate enough to share in her love and friendship; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Barbara Ann Neal
  McLaughlin and extend sincere sympathy to the members of her
  family: to her husband, Donald E. McLaughlin, Sr.; to her children,
  Connie Tidwell and her husband, Walter, Bart Neal McLaughlin and
  his wife, Jan, and Don McLaughlin, Jr., and his wife, Karen; to her
  grandchildren, Barton, Hunter, Wilkins, Mac, and Backor
  McLaughlin, Steven and Maggie McNew, Emily, Milo, and Justin
  Tidwell and his wife, Krissy; to her great-grandchildren, Brook,
  Riley, and Ashlyn Tidwell; to her brother, B. D. Neal; and to her
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Barbara Ann
  Neal McLaughlin.
