R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, The family and friends of Monroe Wilson Boles of |
|
Winters were deeply saddened by his passing on August 25, 2008, at |
|
the age of 88; and |
|
WHEREAS, A native of the Lone Star State, Mr. Boles was born |
|
in Comanche, on December 24, 1919; he married his beloved wife, |
|
Arlene, in 1939, and together they raised four sons, Roneal, |
|
Rickey, Randall, and Reg; and |
|
WHEREAS, Mr. Boles proudly served his country during World |
|
War II as a member of a Naval Construction Battalion on Guam; he |
|
went on to work as a truck driver before spending a number of years |
|
in the oil fields; he finished his career as a tool and die maker for |
|
Dry Manufacturing Company in Winters; and |
|
WHEREAS, In retirement, Mr. Boles enjoyed stock farming and |
|
attending the First Baptist Church of Winters, where he served as a |
|
deacon; and |
|
WHEREAS, Although Monroe Boles is deeply missed, he will long |
|
be fondly remembered by all those who held him dear; now, therefore, |
|
be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Monroe Wilson Boles |
|
and extend deepest sympathy to the members of his family: to his |
|
wife, Arlene Boles; to his sons, Roneal and his wife, Phyllis, |
|
Rickey and his wife, LaVerne, Randall and his wife, Jean, and Reg |
|
and his wife, Becky; to his 10 grandchildren and his 16 |
|
great-grandchildren; and to his other relatives and friends; and, |
|
be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
|
Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Monroe |
|
Wilson Boles. |
