R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, South Houston Intermediate School in Pasadena |
|
|
Independent School District has been selected as the 2009 National |
|
|
Model School by the International Center for Leadership in |
|
|
Education (ICLE); and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Led by principal Laura Gomez, South Houston earned |
|
|
the National Model School distinction because of significant gains |
|
|
made in student achievement for three consecutive years and in |
|
|
recognition of ongoing efforts toward higher standards and greater |
|
|
rigor in instruction; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The Pasadena district itself also has been |
|
|
recognized by ICLE as a National Model School District; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A good education provides a strong foundation for |
|
|
the future well-being, not only of the students involved, but also |
|
|
of the state as a whole, and this award recognizes the commitment of |
|
|
the faculty, staff, students, and parents of South Houston |
|
|
Intermediate School to educational excellence; now, therefore, be |
|
|
it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate South Houston Intermediate School |
|
|
on its selection as the 2009 National Model School and extend to the |
|
|
students, faculty, and staff sincere best wishes for continued |
|
|
success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the school as an expression of high regard by the Texas |
|
|
House of Representatives. |
