R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Ann Cunningham has been named Ms. Pasadena Senior
  2009, and she will undoubtedly represent her fellow citizens with
  dignity and grace at the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant; and
         WHEREAS, Ms. Cunningham distinguished herself among nine
  contestants in the interview, evening gown, and talent
  competitions, in which she sang and danced to the song "Mr.
  Bojangles," and she further impressed the judges with her
  philosophy of life; and
         WHEREAS, A valued member of the Pasadena community since
  1971, Ms. Cunningham was born in Oklahoma and grew up in southeast
  Houston; she is retired and enjoys vintage cars and car shows, arts
  and crafts, crossword puzzles, and volunteering at the animal
  shelter; and
         WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, she is blessed with the
  support of her husband, Larry Cunningham, and her daughter, Geri
  Garland, whom she calls her "shining achievement"; and
         WHEREAS, Ann Cunningham is a woman of exceptional ability and
  determination, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to
  recognize her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate Ann Cunningham on being named Ms.
  Pasadena Senior and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued
  success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Ms. Cunningham as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
