R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
WHEREAS, Ann Cunningham has been named Ms. Pasadena Senior |
|
2009, and she will undoubtedly represent her fellow citizens with |
|
dignity and grace at the Ms. Texas Senior America Pageant; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ms. Cunningham distinguished herself among nine |
|
contestants in the interview, evening gown, and talent |
|
competitions, in which she sang and danced to the song "Mr. |
|
Bojangles," and she further impressed the judges with her |
|
philosophy of life; and |
|
WHEREAS, A valued member of the Pasadena community since |
|
1971, Ms. Cunningham was born in Oklahoma and grew up in southeast |
|
Houston; she is retired and enjoys vintage cars and car shows, arts |
|
and crafts, crossword puzzles, and volunteering at the animal |
|
shelter; and |
|
WHEREAS, In all of her endeavors, she is blessed with the |
|
support of her husband, Larry Cunningham, and her daughter, Geri |
|
Garland, whom she calls her "shining achievement"; and |
|
WHEREAS, Ann Cunningham is a woman of exceptional ability and |
|
determination, and it is appropriate to take this opportunity to |
|
recognize her; now, therefore, be it |
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ann Cunningham on being named Ms. |
|
Pasadena Senior and extend to her sincere best wishes for continued |
|
success; and, be it further |
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
prepared for Ms. Cunningham as an expression of high regard by the |
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
