R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The Mansfield Timberview High School boys'
  basketball team had an outstanding 2008-2009 season, advancing to
  the University Interscholastic League 4A state semifinals for the
  first time in school history; and
         WHEREAS, Finishing the campaign with a stellar record of 27
  wins and 11 losses, the Wolves proved themselves clutch performers
  who claimed a number of victories with thrilling last-second shots;
  in playoff competition, the team triumphed over Fort Worth Trimble
  Tech, Azle, Mansfield Legacy, El Paso Andress, and Amarillo Palo
  Duro High Schools before finally falling at the hands of eventual
  state champion Houston Yates; and
         WHEREAS, The success enjoyed by the Wolves this year was the
  result of an exceptional team effort, with valuable contributions
  being made by each member of the roster: Jerren Domino, Brandon Pye,
  Carl Ellis, Josh Williams, Roosevelt Powell, Mykal Wiley, J. J.
  Williams, LaDavid Taylor, Jelon Hornbeak, Amos Mundendi, Cedric
  Ivory, Dahir Haji, Omer Neak, Dexter Elliott, Jason Ross, and Josh
  Dada; and
         WHEREAS, Ably guided by head coach Eric McDade, the Wolves
  also received vital support from assistant coaches Duane Gregory,
  Robert Johnson, Alfred Jones, Matthew Workman, and Desmond Barnes;
  and
         WHEREAS, The hard work and commitment to excellence
  demonstrated by these talented student-athletes have earned them
  the respect and admiration of their classmates and their many
  community supporters, and they may indeed take justifiable pride in
  all that they have achieved; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby congratulate the Mansfield Timberview High
  School boys' basketball team on reaching the UIL 4A state
  semifinals and extend to the team's players, coaches, and staff
  sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for the team as an expression of high regard by the Texas
  House of Representatives.
