R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The members of Richardson Republican Women have been |
|
|
presented with a David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican |
|
|
Women Award in honor of their work in the 2008 general election; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Richardson Republican Women tallied the most |
|
|
volunteer hours of any club of comparable size during the election |
|
|
season, and this effort is typical of the enthusiastic work the |
|
|
organization has performed throughout its history; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Founded in 1958, Richardson Republican Women has |
|
|
undertaken a wide range of efforts to promote positive change on the |
|
|
local, state, and national levels; these have included |
|
|
community-focused outreach activities, literacy programs, and |
|
|
financial assistance projects for Texas public libraries; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, This hardworking group of civic leaders has |
|
|
demonstrated an unwavering commitment to strengthening involvement |
|
|
in their community's electoral process, and this award justly |
|
|
recognizes their dedication; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby honor Richardson Republican Women on its receipt |
|
|
of the David Dewhurst Texas Federation of Republican Women Award |
|
|
and extend to all those involved with the club sincere best wishes |
|
|
for the future; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for the organization as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
