R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Helen
  Ann Wade of Jacksonville, who died on March 15, 2009, at the age of
  57; and
         WHEREAS, Born on August 20, 1951, to Joyce and John R. Barber,
  Helen Wade was a graduate of Jacksonville High School; she pursued a
  career in the financial services industry, working for Texas Bank
  and Trust for 25 years and, more recently, as a field representative
  with Woodmen of the World; she also was a substitute teacher; and
         WHEREAS, Throughout her life, Mrs. Wade was actively engaged
  in the life of her community, and she was involved with the PTA, the
  Boy Scouts, the Quarterback Club, the Career Women's Civic Club,
  Junior Achievement, United Fund, and the Cherokee County Red Cross,
  among others; she was chair of the March of Dimes, Heart Walk, and
  Western Week, and she was an officer of the Jacksonville Soccer
  Association, lodge secretary of Woodmen of the World for 25 years,
  and a member of the board of directors of the chamber of commerce;
  and
         WHEREAS, For her tireless efforts in behalf of Jacksonville,
  she was recognized as Businesswoman of the Year by the chamber of
  commerce, and on two occasions she was named Woman of the Year by
  the Career Women's Civic Club; and
         WHEREAS, Helen Wade was a loving wife and a devoted mother and
  grandmother who was proud to live on a farm that had been in her
  family for more than a century; although she was taken much too
  soon, the memory of her courage, optimism, and community spirit
  will live forever in the hearts of all those who cared for her; now,
  therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Helen Ann Wade and
  extend sincere condolences to the members of her family: to her
  husband of 39 years, Stanley Wade; to her mother, Joyce Barber; to
  her daughter, Wendy Wade; to her son, Greg Wade, and his wife,
  Elizabeth; to her granddaughters, Brooklyn Hunter and Lauren Wade;
  and to her other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Helen Ann
  Wade.
