R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Friends and family are mourning the loss of Tommie
  Fay Holcomb Darby of Jacksonville, who died on March 20, 2009, at
  the age of 68; and
         WHEREAS, Born in Huntsville on August 6, 1940, to Jim and
  Virgie Holcomb, Tommie Fay Holcomb graduated from Jacksonville High
  School in 1958 in the top 10 of her class; that same year, she
  married Roy Darby, with whom she shared a rewarding relationship
  that spanned a half-century; the couple's life together was further
  enriched by the addition of their son, James, to their family; and
         WHEREAS, Mrs. Darby was employed as a secretary at McElmurry
  Motors and Nichols Industry and went on to establish a notable
  21-year career with the Jacksonville Independent School District
  before her retirement; she was a charter member of Tabernacle
  Baptist Church; and
         WHEREAS, Tommie Fay Darby lived a caring and purposeful life,
  and she will forever hold a treasured place in the hearts of all
  those who were privileged to know her; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Tommie Fay Holcomb
  Darby and extend sincere condolences to the members of her family:
  to her husband, Roy Darby; to her son, James Bryant Darby; to her
  sister, Ann Hughes; and to her other relatives and many friends;
  and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Tommie Fay
  Darby.
