R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, Words cannot express the sorrow felt at the untimely
  loss of Albert Garza, Jr., who passed away on March 16, 2009, at the
  age of 52; and
         WHEREAS, Beto Garza was born on March 23, 1956, to Rita and
  Alberto Garza in Brownsville; he lived for several years in McAllen
  before moving to Edinburg and becoming the theater arts instructor
  at Economedes High School, where he shared his love for the theater
  with his students for nearly two decades; and
         WHEREAS, An avid traveler, Mr. Garza visited such diverse
  destinations as Spain and Japan but enjoyed Mexico most of all; when
  staying closer to home, he loved to cook, bake, and barbecue for his
  family and wide circle of friends; and
         WHEREAS, Although his time on earth was far too brief, Beto
  Garza enriched the lives of others with his honesty and his sense of
  humor; he was truly a beloved teacher, and he leaves behind a wealth
  of fond memories to be forever cherished by all those fortunate
  enough to share in his company; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Albert "Beto" Garza,
  Jr., and extend sincere sympathy to the members of his family: to
  his father, Alberto R. Garza; to his siblings, Diana Nelson, Ruth
  Balderas and her husband, Manuel, Norma Parker, Lupita Nelson and
  her husband, Arthur, and Severo Garza and his wife, Margie; to his
  brother-in-law, Jay W. Harris; to his nieces and nephews, Jennifer
  and Jimmy Nelson, Jacob, Crystal, and Joseph Balderas, Richard and
  Christopher Parker, Eric Nelson, Victoria and Micaela Garza, and
  Amanda Harris; and to his other relatives and many friends; and, be
  it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Albert
  Garza, Jr.
