R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Ethan Louis Van Antwerp of Boy Scouts of America |
|
|
Troop No. 40 in Houston attained the rank of Eagle Scout, and this |
|
|
accomplishment truly merits special recognition; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Receiving the Eagle Scout badge is a significant |
|
|
honor, bestowed on only a small fraction of those who enter the |
|
|
scouting movement; in the course of meeting the rank's demanding |
|
|
criteria, Mr. Van Antwerp earned 33 merit badges and completed an |
|
|
Eagle Scout project of lasting benefit to his community; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, A graduate of Humble High School, where he earned |
|
|
three letters for cheerleading, this fine young Texan is currently |
|
|
a midshipman at the United States Merchant Marine Academy in Kings |
|
|
Point, New York; he is a member of the color guard, honor guard, |
|
|
drill team, and sailing team; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Van Antwerp's dedication to excellence |
|
|
and perseverance in the pursuit of his goals have proven him worthy |
|
|
to stand among scouting's elite, and he may indeed reflect with |
|
|
pride on a job well done; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Ethan Louis Van Antwerp on |
|
|
achieving the rank of Eagle Scout and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success and happiness; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Van Antwerp as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
