R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The 75th birthday of an esteemed Texan is indeed
  cause for celebration, and The Honorable Glenn E. Breazeale of Ore
  City is commemorating this important milestone on April 11, 2009;
  and
         WHEREAS, In 1939, Glenn Breazeale was born to Wyatt and Katie
  Breazeale near Ore City in Upshur County, Texas where the Breazeale
  family lived; as a young boy, he attended elementary school in Ore
  City; and went on to graduate from Diana High School and later from
  Tyler Commercial College.  He answered his nation's call to duty and
  served in the U.S. Navy as a Communications Technician from 1953
  until 1957 and was stationed in Japan and Charleston, South
  Carolina; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale retired from a long and fulfilling
  career in the shipping department at Lone Star Steel; and
         WHEREAS, Dedicated to his community, Mr. Breazeale began
  serving on the Ore City Council and in 2001 was elected to his first
  term as Mayor of Ore City; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale has also taken on roles with numerous
  other civic organizations, including volunteering at nursing homes
  in his community; and was named the 2007 Upshur County Outstanding
  Citizen of the Year; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Breazeale has served his Lord and his community
  faithfully for decades, working in the background to help those in
  need, and he is a valued member of First Methodist Church of Ore
  City; and
         WHEREAS, In all of his endeavors, Mr. Breazeale enjoys the
  love and affection of his three children, Kelly Breazeale of
  Australia, Gregory Breazeale of Dallas and Wesley Breazeale of San
  Antonio; and his two grandsons of San Antonio; and
         WHEREAS, Glenn E. Breazeale has made lasting contributions to
  Ore City, and he has justly garnered the respect and admiration of
  his neighbors, friends, and colleagues; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby honor Glenn E. Breazeale on the occasion of his
  75th birthday and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued
  success and happiness; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Mr. Breazeale as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
