R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont, a student at Jefferson Middle School |
|
|
in Helotes, has been selected to take part in the 2009 Lone Star |
|
|
Leadership Academy of the Education in Action program in Houston |
|
|
and Galveston; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Education in Action helps young Texans to become |
|
|
informed and engaged members of their communities, and every summer |
|
|
the organization sponsors the Lone Star Leadership Academy; the |
|
|
program develops the leadership skills of exceptional students in |
|
|
grades five through eight while also conducting field trips to a |
|
|
number of notable sites in the Lone Star State; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Ronnie and Alisa Thienpont, Troy earned |
|
|
admittance into the Lone Star Leadership Academy through his |
|
|
outstanding academic record, demonstrated leadership ability, and |
|
|
community involvement; his participation in the academy represents |
|
|
a new level of achievement by this outstanding young Texan; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Troy Thienpont's hard work and commitment to |
|
|
excellence are certain to open the way to many opportunities for him |
|
|
in the future, and he may indeed take great pride in his admission |
|
|
to this prestigious program; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby congratulate Troy Thienpont on his acceptance to |
|
|
the 2009 Lone Star Leadership Academy and extend to him sincere best |
|
|
wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Mr. Thienpont as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
