H.R. No. 1304
 
 
 
R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The untimely passing of Cesar Arreola of the El Paso
  County Sheriff's Office on January 18, 2009, at the age of 37, is a
  tragic loss to his family, his fellow peace officers, and the
  citizens he served; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Andres and Saturnina Arreola, Cesar
  Arreola served his country in the United States Army during the Gulf
  War, and he earned a number of honors during his military service;
  and
         WHEREAS, A graduate of El Paso Community College, he pursued
  a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and graduated at the top of
  his class at the detention officers' academy; he was also an expert
  marksman; and
         WHEREAS, Mr. Arreola worked as a diesel mechanic for more
  than a decade before joining the El Paso County Sheriff's Office in
  September 2007; dedicated to his career in law enforcement, he had
  hoped to join the agency's Special Reaction Team and eventually
  become a deputy; and
         WHEREAS, He served the greater community as an active member
  of Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and as a Master Mason with
  Sunland Lodge No. 1344; during his leisure time, Mr. Arreola
  enjoyed watching Pittsburgh Steelers football games and spending
  time outdoors with his family, to whom he was deeply devoted; he and
  his beloved wife, Martha, shared 16 happy years together and were
  blessed with two children, Jazmin and Angel; and
         WHEREAS, Cesar Arreola earned the respect and affection of
  many, and though his life ended far too soon, he will forever hold a
  treasured place in the hearts of his loved ones; now, therefore, be
  it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Cesar Arreola and
  extend deepest condolences to the members of his family: to his
  wife, Martha Arreola; to his daughter, Jazmin, and his son, Angel;
  to his father, Andres; to his sister, Columba A. Reyes; and to his
  other relatives and friends; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
  Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Cesar
  Arreola.
