R E S O L U T I O N
         WHEREAS, The selection for promotion of Chris Ward of the
  United States Air Force to the rank of major provides a fitting
  opportunity to recognize his dedication to duty and his
  contributions to the defense of our nation; and
         WHEREAS, The son of Mary Rodgers Ward of Granbury and the late
  Tommy Franklin Ward, Jr., Chris Ward graduated from Granbury High
  School in 1995 and from the Air Force Academy in 2000; he went on to
  further his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a
  master's degree in 2008; and
         WHEREAS, Captain Ward completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan
  and is currently stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in
  Massachusetts with his wife, Mary Jenny Ward, a fellow graduate of
  the Air Force Academy; and
         WHEREAS, Chris Ward embodies the Air Force ideals of
  integrity, service, and excellence, and it is a pleasure to join in
  congratulating him on achieving this noteworthy milestone in his
  military career; now, therefore, be it
         RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas
  Legislature hereby commend U.S. Air Force Captain Chris Ward on the
  occasion of his selection for promotion and extend to him sincere
  best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
         RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
  prepared for Captain Ward as an expression of high regard by the
  Texas House of Representatives.
