R E S O L U T I O N
|
|
|
WHEREAS, The selection for promotion of Chris Ward of the |
|
|
United States Air Force to the rank of major provides a fitting |
|
|
opportunity to recognize his dedication to duty and his |
|
|
contributions to the defense of our nation; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, The son of Mary Rodgers Ward of Granbury and the late |
|
|
Tommy Franklin Ward, Jr., Chris Ward graduated from Granbury High |
|
|
School in 1995 and from the Air Force Academy in 2000; he went on to |
|
|
further his education at Texas A&M University, where he earned a |
|
|
master's degree in 2008; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Captain Ward completed a tour of duty in Afghanistan |
|
|
and is currently stationed at Hanscom Air Force Base in |
|
|
Massachusetts with his wife, Mary Jenny Ward, a fellow graduate of |
|
|
the Air Force Academy; and |
|
|
WHEREAS, Chris Ward embodies the Air Force ideals of |
|
|
integrity, service, and excellence, and it is a pleasure to join in |
|
|
congratulating him on achieving this noteworthy milestone in his |
|
|
military career; now, therefore, be it |
|
|
RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 81st Texas |
|
|
Legislature hereby commend U.S. Air Force Captain Chris Ward on the |
|
|
occasion of his selection for promotion and extend to him sincere |
|
|
best wishes for continued success; and, be it further |
|
|
RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
|
|
prepared for Captain Ward as an expression of high regard by the |
|
|
Texas House of Representatives. |
